Entry 5 continued: How Art Made the World (Video Response)

The most interesting fact that I learned from this video was when professor Ramachandran tried to make a neurological connection as to why Venus' image was created the way that it was and it was found that that seagulls were an explanation as to why. Another thing that I found quite interesting was the Ancient Greeks' fixation with athletic bodies. And looking back at their sculpture I can see it now, the men's bodies are always chiseled to perfection.


Our modern world is dominated by images of the body that are unrealistic because people believed their gods took human form and had beautiful bodies so they aspired to have the same bodies to feel more like a god. If you looked good you were good. People aimed for physical perfection so they exaggerate themselves more to achieve that.
